Who could have guessed it, it's ANOTHER flower french. I don't know what's with my obsession about flowers lately. Before I painted them very rarely. I guess they simply make up a great tip. Also some of the pictures turned out weird, it's like I have duck nails.

  3. Paint anther flower under it.
  4. Outline in white.

30 Days of French Twist, day 23- Striped Rose French

  1. Paint nail white.
  2. Add yellow half-moons.
  3. Paint stripes on the tip.
  4. Paint pink roses.

30 Days of French Twist, day 21-Dotted Gradient

I recently I had a mild essence haul, and bought some awesome glitters. Essence is definitely my favorite nail polish brand. It's literally perfect. The brush is flat and wide, the texture is great, it dries fast, has great colors and it's so cheap. I just did this design to show off one of my newest nail polishes :)
  1. Paint nail with any kind of glitter nail polish.
  2. Paint a wavy black french tip.
  3. Dot on some big black spots.
  4. Dot some small dots between the bigger ones.
  5. Top coat+enjoy

30 Days of French Twist, day 20- Crime Scene French

Today's nail art tutorial is inspired by the bright yellow tape used in most crime series. Being a huge fan of anything criminal (I mean show), I felt the need to do these. The tape is supposed to say "CRIME SCENE DON'T CROSS".

  1. Paint nail nude.
  2. Paint a crooked black french tip.
  3. Paint tape in white.
  4. Paint the white area yellow
  5. Paint outer lines.
  6. Paint as much of the sentence "CRIME SCENE DON'T CROSS" on the nail.
  7. Add blood splatter.

30 Days of French Twist, day 19- Stamped french

Today I have a stamped french manicure. You'll have to excuse my poor level of stamping. I stamp very rarely, only when I am too lazy to do nail art and don't feel like a one color manicure. I also know that there are a lot of people who can't do nail art. I don't want anyone to feel left out :D. You can use basically any stamping plate. Preferably it would have flowers butterflies stars etc.

  1. Paint nail black
  2. Paint a cloth pattern (do thin horizontal stripes, and cover them with some vertical ones)
  3. Stamp on some black flowers.
  4. Stamp some white flowers.
  5. Add a bit of glitter.(optional)
  6. Top coat+enjoy

  2. Paint a red french tip.
  3. Paint a star-like flower in black.
  4. Glue or top coat on a red rhinestone.
  5. Add some dots.

  3. Paint white flowers to the black part.
  4. Do small white dots next to the flowers.

30 Days of French Twist, day 12- Cookie Monster Half Moon

I have always wanted to do a half moon manicure (yes, it is technically a type of french tip). And I have wanted to do a cookie monster design ever since I got the perfect blue for it (I used "Blue My Mind" by H&M). So I simply combined the two, into a very awesome design. Also I got Sammy from The Nailasaurus to replicate my design. You can see it here. BIG THANKS TO THE NAILASAURUS. I also really love how she used flocking powder on the blue. so without further adieu I give you the tutorial.

  1. Paint nails blue.
  2. Paint a half moon with dark brown.
  3. Fill in the half moon with beige, so you can only see a thin line of brown

30 Days of French Twist, day 10- The Tetris French

Today I have a Tetris themed design. I have always wanted to do this design, but for me it was surprisingly complicated to get all the pieces the same size. After some failed testing this method seems to work the best for me.

  1. Paint nail black
  2. Paint a white tip (which is not shown in the tutorial for some reason. sorry)
  3. Use a thin striper to draw squared on the white tip.
  4. Paint some Tetris pieces (parts, or whatever they are called)
  5. Add some more.
  6. Paint the empty squares black.
  7. Top coat+enjoy

30 Days of French Twist, day 8- The Glitter Gradient

Well actually I don't think this design is listed under gradient. It's sort of gradient ombre glitter thingy. Someone PLEASE explain the difference between gradient and ombre.
Anyway, this is a super easy design but I love it. When I am in a hurry but want paint my nails I always choose this design. It also works for a design with an accent nail (I mean as with the accent nail, not as the accent nail).

  1. Paint nail black.
  2. Do a glitter gradient tip (I do believe this is not very well explained. So here is the looong version. You need loose glitter, a medium sized nail art brush and top coat. Dip the brush into the top coat, make sure the top coat isn't dripping from the brush, get enough to cover the brush thickly. Dip the top coated brush into the loose glitter. You should have a brush full of something that looks like a very thick   glitter polish. Place the brush at the end of the nail to make the tip, with brush strokes from the tip to the cuticle.)
  3. top coat+enjoy.
Oh, whoa, that's a lot of text.

  4. Top coat+enjoy.

30 Days of French Twist, day 6- The Candy French

The weather has been terrible this whole week, and I have been able to get very few photos (I use natural light to take pictures). Though the quality of some has been amazing. Well anyway I am just going to hope for better weather for the rest of my twists.

  2. Paint chocolate frosting with brown.
  3. Use a dotting tool to do the sprinkles. (actually the big one is supposed to be a cherry.)
  4. Color the Sprinkles and cherry.

30 Days of French Twist, day 1- The Joker Twist

I have seen many bloggers doing the 30 day challenge. All of you probably know how it goes, but I am going to explain it anyway. So, the point of the 30 day challenge is to do one nail art design every day, often there is a specific list of designs you have to do like: day 5. - blue nails. Usually the list is displayed on the blog. I have twisted the challenge and decided not to show the list nor make one.  So you just have to check back every day for new designs :). As you can see from the title the theme of this challenge is the french twist. Also instead of posting pictures of the design I am going to post a tutorial.

So without further adieu I give you my first tutorial.
Since I have noticed that you can't really see the text if I add it to the picture, so I am just simply going to write the steps.

  1. Paint the nail red
  2. Paint half of the nail black
  3. Use black to outline the ruff (or whatever the thing is called).
  4. Paint the ruff white.
  5. Enjoy
If you use this tutorial please add a link to a picture of the result to comments. Thank you!

Kawaii Nails

Happy New year!!
As you can see from my blog I have made no New Year's, Christmas nor winter inspired nail art . I am never on topic with my ideas for new designs. I spent most of summer painting Halloween designs, but when it was Halloween I completely ran out of ideas. So don't be surprised when I will post Christmas nail art in the middle of may.

Anyway I decided to do kawaii nails. Kawaii is the Japanese word for cute. On my thumb I painted a cute cupcake with a eye patch, on my pinkie I painted  a hamster, on my ring finger I painted a cute little panda with a bow tie, on my middle finger there is a adorable sheep and on my pointer I painted Nyan cat. I have a unexplained love for Nyan cat. Just look at him/her/it/whatever, the giant black button eyes and small paws AND he/she/it/whatever is also stuck in a pop tart and has a rainbow trail where ever he/she/it/whatever goes. How can you not love Nyan cat.
