Inheritance Book Art Nails

Sorry for not posting for a while. I have lost all of the last11 competitions I have entered. And most of the winning designs have been really low level and boring. Therefore I am really uninspired, unmotivated and  having some sort of confidential crisis.
Perhaps I should start doing designs solely using stamping and tape. Make them all look basically the same just with a bit of a color difference, like sooo many nail bloggers with thousands of followers, fans and prizes.
For now, see an old design of mine.

This is a replica of the cover art of the book Inheritance. I love this. But perhaps, tomorrow or the day after I will dump the monsters and the harlequin monkeys to make room for for swirls and pretty colors.

  1. I think this is amazing! Don't let your loses get you down! Remember why you started doing nail art and try to reclaim that passion! You have amazing skills! :)

  2. I have about 30 followers even though I've been nail art blogging for two years. *shrug* I just have to keep doing the nail art for me and not care what other people think. That's the only way to get through it.

    1. What's your blog's address. I'd love to see it :). You are totally right. It's just that those 11 looses have been like 11 people telling me that I suck at painting my nails. But, thanks for the advice :)

  3. Actually you have just won Nailed It contest! Congratulations! Haven't you noticed or is the different time zone responsible for that? You see, this is the wheel of fortune, sometimes you win sometimes you loose, do not get discouraged though.

    1. I found out the day after I posted this. It is fantastic news, just what I needed to get out of my terrible mood :).Now I feel kind of bad for whining on my blog :D.

  4. I think that your nail art is really "art" (not "craft" like most others bloggers), so it's less approachable, more specific, demanding and not "recreateable". It might be overwhelming and definitely less wearable. Your skills are amazing, but your creations not appeal to mass wiever as an inspiration - there are not alot of people who can do something like this, and if they do - they look for their own style. People - in general - like simple things. You make them feel like preschooler ;).
There is also other thing (as I see it) - in most competitions and giveaways almost always wins the same group of people. It buffles me.

    1. Your comment is perfection. You have just made my week :),Thank you so much. And, I have also noticed that some people (regardless of the design) win every competition they enter.

  5. I agree with Beata. I love your art, I'd love to be able to do something similar but I don't have your talent. You designs look better than most nail decals, I imagine some people find it a bit intimidating. It could be also they think you are professional and as such have unfair advantage.

  6. I have 337 blogs listed under "Nails" in my feedly. Only 10 of those are also listed under the category of "Art". Please don't make me lose one of my favorite art blogs. Especially since most of them use acrylic paints to make their wondrous pictures. You have the distinction of showing me that amazing art can be done with nail lacquer as well. Sometimes competitions will go to styles that are trendy rather than solely judging on quality. If you honestly think you need to change your style for competition and contest entries, then go for it. But please never give up on the beautiful art you share with us.

  7. I agree with Beata Azazaz. People have different tastes when it comes to nail art (or pretty much anything) and your nail designes are so complicated and detailed that they can be less wearable and harder to approach. I like your unique style but I also like simpler and more delicate designs. I couldn't help but get the feeling that you were looking down on some other nail artists with different taste.
I myself like nail art competitions but I almost never win. You shouldn't feel down if you lose but try to learn from it. It's still fun and exciting to participate even if u don't win, right? You can just think that at least you liked your own design and played fair. That's what really matters, don't you think? Don't lose your passion! :)

  8. I follow a lot of nail blogs, and most of them are unique to me in some way- yours is no exception! I generally can't manage proper art on my own nails, I restrict it to nail wheels and other people. But bloggers like you are my inspiration to keep trying! Sure, I like to do simpler, more abstract/crafty designs most of the time, but when I'm looking for something really unusual I love trying art like yours. There's a place on the internet for every kind of nail art, and I'd be sad if you stopped doing your particular brand of it, since that's why I followed you.

  9. Your nail art is a prize to be won in itself! I wouldn't care if I never won a contest as long as I could do my nails as beautifully as you :)
