It's december of 2013 and I have finished my first jelly sandwich manicure. Boooy, did I miss the jelly train, or what. I used Kiko- 298 and Essence- Glorious Aquarius for the jelly sandwich.
This is a review for checkered full nail stickers from Born Pretty Store. I really liked these. They are something in between water decals and regular (small) nail stickers. They stick really well, but are not bulky and they are very flexible so they leave no air bubbles.

Eye See You
This is a review for the eyeball bluesea you can see on my ring finger. I got it from KKCenterHk. I am not a big fan of the fact that you only get 2 of these. Considering that I am an absolute klutz, I managed to lose one of these instantly. That obviously is not a flaw of the product. With stuff like this what you see is what you get.

Paint Splattered Water Decals
Oh, wait, I have two hands now don't I.
As you may know I have second degree burn on my left pointer finger, and first degree burns on my ring and pinky finger. (That's what you get for straightening your hair on a monday.) So my swatching hand is not exactly photographable. How did it take me a week to realize that I can paint my right hand too.

Getting back to the review now. I got these water decals from KKCenterHk. I'm not a big fan of these decals. First of all, they are really sheer and can only be applied over white. They are also too narrow for my nails, none of these fit on my thumb and the black one was way to small. They were also hard to apply, as they were stiff and didn't stick to the nail at all. I know water decals aren't supposed to be sticky, but newer before have I had to hold the decal down until completely dry so it wouldn't immediately lift. It's a shame, because I really like this design.

Stripes and Roses
This is a review for a mixed nail decoration wheel from Born Pretty Store.
I've got to say this is probably my favorite item like ever. It has everything, fimo, little plastic bows, acrylic flowers, pearls and rhinestones. This is perfect if you don't use a lot of 3d decorations but you would like a large selection when you do. The wheel itself is the biggest I own (has a diameter of 8,3 cm).
Look at that I made an elegant design. It's really nice for a change. Oh, and btw, the leaved do not come with the item, I made them myself from acrylic.
And don't forget about my coupon code SCL91.

Dragonfly Nails
I love fimo. Hate using it. But it's sooo cute. I could never paint anything so small and detailed. I got the fimo from Born Pretty Store. See here.

I Moustache You A Question
... but I am shaving it for later. Gosh, how old is this pun. However I still like it.
This is a review of the moustache 3d decals from Born Pretty Store. The decals are made from plastic and very light. They come in 12 cute colors and you get 2 of each. Which for me is more than enough. An overall great product. The lines however aren't as good as they could be, oh well.

Rainbow Polka Dot Nail Art
This is a review for Born Pretty Store's multicolor rhinestones.
I really really love polka dots. The biggest problem with them is that they always come out different sized, no matter what tool you use. Luckily I found this product, with which I can have perfectly same sized dots. While it really is what it says, I mean round rhinestones, and there is nothing wrong with the product itself, I still had some problems using it.
As you can see from the photo, I had quite a severe case of bubbling around the rhinestones. And I have no idea how to avoid that. It's really a shame since these are so cute in the box and were on the nail as well, before top coating. Does anyone have any advice?

Sweet Summer Days
This is a review of #MLS301 stamping template from Born Pretty Store.
I really love this template, the designs are absolutely adorable. I have to apologise for the really sucky clean up, but in my defence I was rushed into this and I didn't have the proper tools with me. Also, I had to play monopoly with the photographer while top coating and cleaning up.
Gosh, I've had so much sweets the past month, my thickening thighs are plotting revenge.
And here is my little 6-year old photographer. Who turned out to be the only one within a 500 metre radius willing to pick up a camera.

How Unicorns are Made
This is a review of Born Pretty Store's holographic nail polish.
Some time ago Born Pretty Store made their first collection of nail polishes, and to celebrate that, they gave away 200 bottles of it, I was one of the lucky winners. And got myself a bottle in 11#.
I have tried a few holographic polishes, but this one impressed me the most. I don't know if it's the formula or this color brings out the glitter more. The formula was great, I used 3 coats for the pictures. Unfortunately, I forgot to measure the drying time, and I didn't bring it with me on vacation. I don't even know if anyone actually cares for the dry time anyway :). Now, to conclude this post here is my really lame attempt at being funny :D.

Golden Bridal Nail Art Tutorial
Okay okay okay, I know I was supposed to post this Monday, well I actually did write it on Monday. But, I clicked save instead of publish. I have been without Internet access ever since Monday. So when I finally logged on in horror I realized the post never got out. Sorry about that.
I have never been too eager to film a tutorial. Generally just because I haven't watched a single nail art video tutorial in about half a year. They are always way too long and waaaaay too boring. So I have tried to make my video as short and fast paced as possible. Also note that I did the video just before going on vacation and as I have told you I cut my nails off. But I felt quite bad about having nude nail on camera, so I did a few coats of Shooting Stars by Maybelline, an absolutely amazing blue (Maylelline's polka dot collection is the most gorgeous thing ever.) Enjoy the video.Monday, August 5, 2013
Wedding Nail Art Ideas for Quirky Brides
I know the standard wedding design is the french tip. Now, If you have ever met me, you'd know that the french just won't cut it for me. So I prepared a nail wheel of colorful wedding nail art. I actually think colorful designs would spice up a simple white dress very nicely.
I actually planned on making video tutorials for all of them, I was so pissed off in the end of the first one that I wouldn't even consider making a new one. I had my window open, and a breeze made a book I was using to support my "tripod",fell on the nail wheel with the top coat still wet and I had to do the design again and there was nail polish everywhere. I did however get a full video and I will be posting it later today. The video is of the design 19. I numbered them after painting. I got so impatient with the last three designs that I just did something so the nail wouldn't be bare. Oh, and designs 1,3,6,10,14,20 are 3d.

Born Pretty Store Stamping Polish Review
I have received some black nail art stamping polish from Born Pretty Store.
This polish is a great alternative to konad stamping polish. As a great bonus it comes with half the price. It's very opaque and sticky. It takes a bit more time to dry than regular polish, which is a good thing when it comes to stamping.
This design is from the BM-311 bundle monster stamping plate. The only problem I have with this polish is that if smudges in like 0,5 out of 10 times. But I actually really like this polish, it is a looot better than using regular polish.

Super Simple Nail Art Ideas for Prom
Prom really isn't celebrated as much in here as in America. However some friends of mine are having their "prom"(by prom I just mean dressing up and having something party-ish close to graduation) this year. so I have been doing a lot of online prom dress shopping. So I thought I would do a post on my favorite prom dresses from persunmall.com and some super simple nail art ideas to go with them.
This dress can be found here. Overall I like this dress a lot. The cut and the design is very unique.
And here are my nails inspired by it. First of all I did a red and pink gradient, then I topped it with red glitter. So simple.
You can find this dress here. The top part of this dress caught my attention, with all the glitter and the pearls. I also love the light purple of the bottom part. Also a very unique dress.
Aaand my nails. The coloring is a bit off, but it does look like the dress design in my opinion.
You can find the dress here. Oh, I adore the long black see through bottom. This one is probably my favorite.
I did a simple silver half moon to go with the dress.
You can find the dress here. Unfortunately I have no mani to go with this one. But I still really like the dress.
You can find the dress here. This is also one of my favorites. I love the gems on the shoulder and the pretty blue color.

Another Born Pretty Store Water Decal Review
In addition to the awesome black water decals I got from Born Pretty Store, which I reviewed a few days ago. I also got some colorful flower decals (BOP 192-195).
I am actually not much of a flower loving kind of girl. But I instantly fell in love with the rainbow roses, knowing that I will never be able to paint anything close to that.
The roses are so detailed. They were also easy to apply and they were a bit stiffer and stronger than the last ones I reviewed.
Looook how pretty the colors are..
I also went thought the trouble to create another design.
I don't know why, but, I did. I guess it's proof that these are really easy to apply and get in the correct spot. My pointer, middle and pinkie finger are what happens if I am in the same room with a plant for more than a week. I have actually tried raising some plants before. My last plant growing project didn't go so well. I mean, I literally dried a cactus. Seriously, dried into a thin dry stick. I actually have a picture of it.
Returning to topic, I am very pleased with this product.
You can buy these here, if you do don't forget about my cupon code SCL91.

Born Pretty Water Decal Review
I have been experimenting with some water decals from Born Pretty Store.
This is the design 188 Used on top of a french tip. This is the only one of the decals that I actual used as a french (like it was meant to be used).
This is the design D189. It looks like a chessboard on LSD. This is my personal favorite. The design wasn't actually big enough to cover the whole nail so some part of it is hand painted. Don't you dare criticise my sloppy lines, how about you try painting 2 millimeter squares.
This is the design D190. I have Just found out that I have a mode on my camera which detects glitter and automatically makes these star shaped thingies. One of the most useless functions on my camera but works great for this design.
This is the design D191. I really love this. The gold looks amazing and the gradient goes really well with the design.
Overall I was very pleased with these designs. They were really easy yo use. And they make nail art soooo much easier. I think I finished fourth design in 20 min. I kind of went with my instincts with the application but here is a short guide to waterdecaling (yes, that is a word now).

- Paint your nails any color and wait until completely dry.
- Cut out the desired design. (For the french tip I actually only used half of a decal per nail).
- Remove plastic from the decal.
- Soak the decal with the paper in water for about 20 sec.
- Slide the decal of with your finger and place on a nail. (you may also use tweezers for this, but I found my fingers easier to use.)
- Top coat+enjoy.
You can buy the decals form here. And don't forget about my cupon code SCL91 wich will give you a 10% discount.

Mini Hello Kitty Nails
Today's post will be featuring the nails of a little friend of mine.
I was asked to do hello kitty nails for a 9 year old girl. Since (almost) nobody is as patient as me, I chose a simple glitter background. I made the kittys before on plastic, and later top coated on. I did it so the time the manicure takes would be minimized. However even with this wasn't fast enough. But I think the nails look quite good.

30 Days of French Twist, day 31- The Panda French
Yes, I know that 31 is more than 30. But, I didn't want to end the challenge with a Nightmare Before Christmas design. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against it, it's just very impersonal. So to today's design I have included the pink panda from my logo.
- Paint nail white.
- Paint the tip in thick acrylic paint.
- Paint the silhouette of the panda.
- Fill it in with white.
- Fill in the paws, ears and tail with pink (at this point I realized that the panda looks too thin, so I made him fatter. Nobody likes a anorexic panda.
- Fill in the brush with silver and light brown.
- Top coat+enjoy.

30 Days of French Twist, day 30- The Nightmare Before Christmas
I can't believe it's the last day of my french twist challenge. I am actually quite relieved because I don't have to worry about getting a tutorial posted every day, but I am also going to miss it. I am planning to do another one in some time (it can be anytime from March to December). So, I would like to know: whether you prefer full hand manicures or tutorials. I am really wondering if the tutorials help at all... Also: Would you like more difficult or easier designs.
- Paint nail dark blue.
- Paint a black french tip.
- Paint a fence.
- Paint the moon in yellow. (I have never seen the movie, I am just guessing that's the moon)
- Paint the cliff (or whatever the swirly thing is called).
- Paint the silhouette of a character of the movie.
- Top coat+enjoy.

30 Days of French Twist, day 29- Caviar French
Well, it's not actually a caviar french, but I did use micro beads to do it.
As it turns out some/most of my readers think that I love french manicures, and that's why I am doing tutorials. That's wrong. I hatehatehatehate french manicures they are sooo boooring. I am doing a french twist challenge to give people ideas to avoid doing the classical french. In my opinion the french manicure is like the definition of fake. I think so because all the false nails I have ever seen in a store come with the white and beige french.
Also another reason I started making tutorials was that I have a lot of french tip guidelines and didn't know what to do with them. Yes, it's as simple as that :)

- Paint nail nude.
- Paint a edged blue french tip.
- Glue on a rhinestone.
- Surround the rhinestone with micro beads. (the micro beads are stuck on with top coat.)
- Cover up the line between the blue and the nude with micro bead swirls.
- Top coat+enjoy

30 Days of French Twist, day 28- Comic Book Half Moon
A few days ago I used to word "BOOM" in a blog post. From that I was inspired to create a comic book design. I have always wanted to create something like this. But it's too simple for competitions so I just buried the idea.
- Paint nail bright(or neon) pink.
- Create a pattern of small polka dots.
- Make a jagged half moon in black.
- Fill it he half moon with white.
- Add words like BOOM and POW.
- To get a 3D effect paint a part of the letters in a lighter color.
- Top coat+enjoy.
