I did these for a competition a while ago. Which I got first place in. I got a 100 dollar gift certificate to Amazon. Probably the biggest prize I have ever gotten, even though like 40 percent of it went on shipping. Id just like to point out how moronic the amazon international shipping is. You don't get to see how much the shipping is until you check out, also only at check out you can find out if you actually can buy the product. Never shopping in amazon again. But, enough complaining, here is the design.
I'm not fully pleased with the city landscape. But, in my defence, again, I found out about the competition three hours before the closing time. However I do love how the translucent glitter looks in the sky.

Scary Clown Nails
It is almost summer vacation!!! ALMOST
However, I still have 3 really important exams to do. And, boy, do I hate exams. I can't eat nor sleep and my hands are shaking soo much that I can't drink a cup of coffee without spilling half of if. Now, don't you dare think that I am not studying, just because I took 5 min off to post an old design.

Beauty and The Beach Competition
Beauty and the Beach is probably the biggest competition of the season. With a whopping prize of $1500. However with a amazing prize come amazing entries. Also the hardest challenge of the season. But, hey, I'll give it my best shot. If you are interested click here for more information.
Nails:
I have always liked the idea of surfing. However, the drowning shark filled reality might not be that great :)
Hair:
You can't control everything, and your hair was put on your head to remind you of that. That is my one and only rule when it comes to beach hair.
Here is a short and slightly useless tutorial on how I Handle my naturally curly hair on the beach:
Step 1: Wash hair.
Step 2: Allow it to dry naturally. (Don't you even think about piking up a hair drier. If you do You will end up looking like a clown, I mean literally. (Here is an image of what I mean)
Step 3: Straighten it.
Step 4: Tie it up so it won't get curly on the way to the beach.
Step 5: Arrive to the beach, untie hair.
Step 6: Look fabulous for 5 seconds.
Step 7: Boom! Humid sea air.
Step 8: Look like a clown.
Step 9: Hide head under sand, and hope no one notices you.
Nails:
I have always liked the idea of surfing. However, the drowning shark filled reality might not be that great :)
I started off with a light and dark orange sponge gradient. Then I painted the tips blue and sponged the waves. Then I painted the surfer, the birds and the board in black. Later I filled them both in with different shades of gray.
Makeup:
Since when do I have green eyes?
I am very impressed with this picture, my camera has a habit of making me look as bad as possible. You should have seen the rest of this (gaaaaah). Anyway, I started off with a shimmery green and later circled it with a shimmery yellow. I added black eyeliner, then curled and painted my lashes.

Easter Bunny Nails
Yes, I do realize that Easter is over, and I am totally late with this design. As I have mentioned before, I have problems with doing nail art in theme with the date. Believe it or not, this time I actually finished this design 3 days before Easter. But I had entered a competition which forbade publishing the pictures before the results were in. In case you were wondering, I got first place yaaay (the competition had four sections, I won the "paint and polish art" section). So, now all the the winners and the runner ups are uploaded here, to determine the final winner. The final winner will get a HUGE chocolate egg. (which can be seen here.)
Now, please go vote :D. If i win.... I .....will... hmm....hmmm.... How about, if I win I will start a new nail art tutorial challenge?? Anyone interested in that?
(To vote got to this page here, you have to like the page first, and then click vote on my design.)

IT'S RAINBOWING
It has been raining a looot here recently, and it has been a pain to take photos of my nails. Since it's rather dark. I'm sick of rain, I wish it started rainbowing :)
I did this for a nail art competition at Nails by Kayla Shevonne. I used Hypnotize Me for the green gradient and topped it with Happy Ending, both by Cult Nails.
And I did a facebook page for Brush Me Blush. Check it out!

Leopard Nail Art
So, I have entered the Tip Top Nail nail art competition. The theme was hearts and animal print, and you could only use pink, red, purple, nude, brown and black. Which of course was a pain and I am not pleased with the actual animal print however I am rather fond of the leopard.

Rainbow Nail Art
Oh, wow, I haven't had any new posts in ages. I feel so bad. I didn't ever notice the time going by. Anyway here is a photo of my rainbow nails. They are kind of my version of the dark side of the moon.
The rainbow looks great on black. The rhinestones were all from different companies. They looked exactly the same without top coat. But with it you can see the difference very clearly. I was so desperate for perfect-sized rhinestones that I tore some off of an old shirt of mine. Believe it or not those look a lot better than the ones made for nails. As you can probably see from the pictures, I applied the glitter very heavily. When I use glitter I always make sure that I overdo it.
These were an entry to a competition at: Get..Set..Blush!!. Anyway, I won, yaaaaay.

Zebra Butterfly Elephant
This manicure was done as an entry to a nail art competition at kelsie's nail files. According to the rules of the contest the mani had to be inspired by a picture on kelsie's pinterest board. I chose this one:
As you can see it's a zebra butterfly elephant (or something). This was (quite obviously) very hard to do. Especially since I haven't done a competition entry in ages (because of the 30 day challenge). Anyway here are some photos of the result.
Well, it's not one of my best creations. But, keep your fingers crossed.
A few months ago cult nails had a nail art competition. With the prize of $100 worth of their products. I favorited it, thought about a design, wrote the date down on a post-it. All because I didn't want to miss it. I still missed it. I have been beating myself up about it ever since. The prize of the competition held at kelsie's nail files has a prize from cult nails as well. So, I thought it's a great chance the get my hands on some polishes. One can only hope :)
EDIT: I forgot to add the polishes I used.
They are:
"346" by Yes Love (black)
"01" by Moment Make-up (white)
"612" by Yes love (light blue)
"Beach Green " by Kiss (green)
"k030" by Yes Love (pink)
"Party All Night Long" by essence (dark pink jelly with iridescent glitter)
"Ready to Go" by Douglas (orange with gold shimmer)

Christmas Angel Nails
Thanks for my new found bravery towards trying new things, I have decided to enter an gel nail art competition. The competition is hosted by Gel II by Milena Productions. You can find it here.
I have never tried gel before, but the prizes are amazing so I decided to take a risk and buy the gel polish.
The first prize is $1000 cash + 1 led light + 10 Gel II Colors. Now that's the most amazing prize I have ever seen. I swear if I win this I will do 30 nail art tutorials only using Gel II. And walk through every salon within 10 km of my house and advertise the Gel there :)
The gel itself was unbelievably easy to use. I (like always) was prepared for the worse. The web page says that the gel dries within 60 seconds, I took me about 120. Probably because my LED light is the cheapest you can find. Otherwise it is everything the page advertises it to be.

Feyling Duplicity Nail Art
This is my entry to Feyling Duplicity nail art contest. The competition has ended by now but feel free to check out the page :). Feyling Duplicity is a fantasy book. It has something to do with fairies and vampires (from what I have understood). You can read a summary here. I didn't win, but anyway I am posting my entry here.

Legend of Zelda Nail Art Tutorial
Here's a design that I did for Nails By Niqua Video Game Nail Art Contest.
I also did a tutorial for this design. The tutorial is strongly lacking quality but it's better than nothing :)
This design was done on acrylic nails. I think the nails are pretty good considering my two day experience in acrylic nails. I was really afraid of acrylic nails, but I got over it. Now I really like doing them. The only thing I hate is gluing the tips to the nail. I can't stand nail glue. I hatehatehatehate it. anyway here is a brief written tutorial of how to do acrylic nails my stile.
- Make sure your nails are clean.
- Buff your nails.
- Apply primer to your nails.
- Find the right size tip for your nail.
- Find glue to stick the tip to your nails.
- Realize that your only glue is about a year old, and has turned into thick sticky mass.
- Try to apply the "glue" to your nails.
- Glue the tip to your nails, press the tip to the nail until it has dried.
- While the glue dries, accidentally glue the nail buffer to the table and a nail art brush to the keyboard.
- Groan.
- Dip a acrylic brush to acrylic liquid and then to acrylic powder.
- Apply the acrylic to your nail.
- Wait for it to dry.
- Use alcohol to unstick your fingers from the brush and your hair from the wall.
- repeat for all 10 nails.

Breast Cancer Awareness Nail Art
I did these nails for Ooooo Shiny's nail art contest. The theme is: nail art for a cause. I decided to do cancer awareness nails. I chose this theme because cancer is a very close disease to me. Many of my relatives have suffered cancer. Sadly, not all of them have survived. My mother was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago. It was a very depressing time to everyone who was close to her. She had to have surgery to remove the tumour. During the operation the doctors found out that there was no cancer. She was misdiagnosed (phew).
Now she is happily living her life cancerless. I am lighting a candle to remember everyone that has been killed by cancer. I invite you to do the same.

One Stroke Bird+Roses Tutorial
Here's a tutorial that I did for a competition. The colors I used were mainly acrylic. I have recently mastered one stroke nail art. It took me like three months to be able to do my first one stroke manicure. During that time I tested and a lot of different acrylic paints and brushes, most of them didn't work. The paint that I used was by Americana (small pot sets of 6 colors) and the brush that worked was 7300 Shader by Loew-Cornell. I hope you like the video !! :)

My Try at Stamping
Here is my entry to Creativne Nail Design by Sue's nail art competition. I hate (hate hate hate) stamping. If I was any good at it I would probably love it. This is literally the only decent design that I have done by stamping. I am really surprised that it turned out so good. From my experience in stamping (which is about 4 tries) I have learned that older polishes work a LOT better. So dig out your two year old nail polishes ladies, because we're stamping tonight!
Water Element Nail Art Tutorial
Here is a nail art tutorial done for SnowWhiteIsBack's contest. The theme was the four elements, I chose water (I don't know why). I really really hate doing tutorials it slows the painting process down a lot. I am acctually happy with this tutorial compared to my other (one) tutorials. I hope you like it!

Infected Mushroom nails
I did these for a competition Infected Mushroom was having on their twitter. I was quite pleased with the result, but I guess that the band didn't like them since I lost the competition.
