Comic Book Nails

So I got myself a squishy stamper form Born Pretty Store. It's pretty awesome. The biggest difference in performance it has when compared to a regular stamper, is that it easily covers the entire surface of the nail, leaving no gaps. And with my huge nails, gaping edges have been a problem in every design. I definitely am not going back to my old non-squishy konad stamper.

Pretty in Pink

Or perhaps more like crazy in pink.
The pearls and the big gemstone were sent for me by Born Pretty Store, and I am pathetically late with this post. This was originally meant as something valentines day-ish, but well, it's kind of too 8th of March for that now.

Anti Valentine's Day Nails

I seriously adore grumpy cat. I mean the poor thing seriosly looks like his planning a massacre at all times. Insanely adorable.
Yeeah, this is pretty much a perfect representation of me on Valentines day.

3D Rubber Ducky Nails

This is like the first post I've done in like half a month. Yeah, yeah, I'll burn in nail blogger hell. But like I've said I have been filling out a sketchbook. It is AWESOME. I haven't been so hooked on painting in ages.
There are just so many techniques and materials and ideas, and sooo little time. I mean I started painting on nails, paper is like a whole new world for me. I see all these nail artists that have like ten years of experience painting or graphic design or whatever, meanwhile I was still eating paste ten years ago. So i'm having kind of a experience gap that I'm trying to fill, and I don't plan to post more that three two times a month in the near future. Sorry. Please don't unfollow me :).
Anyway here is a cute little rubber ducky.

Superman To The Rescue

Yes, I know, I'm a horrible blogger. For my new years resolution I bought myself a 80 page sketchbook and promised myself that I will have it filled by may. So I have been really busy with the sketchbook and trying new techniques and materials. Also all my good nail brushes have worn out, so I don't have too much motivation to try to paint new nails. Anyway here's a design that some of you may have seen on pinterest already.
I used MoYou Artist plate 06. Is that even superman? Does that look like superman to you?? My knowledge of superheroes is pathetically limited.

Let it Snow

I have wanted to do a snow themed nail design since forever. I miss snow soo much. And here I am sitting under a palm tree with no hope for it. Sniff.
Are these cute or what. I mean look at the little white sparrow, awww. The stickers are from Born Pretty Store, I also used them in my late Christmas mani. I really really love the stickers, and you get so much of these :). However the white parts aren't completely opaque, as you can see from the snowman on my middle finger.

Rockabilly+ Princess Nails

This is a review for a set of water decals I got from Born Pretty Store. Unfortunately the decals are out of stock right now. I'll edit this post and add a link when they are back. Anyway, love them, easy to apply, vibrant colors etc.
And here's a hyper girly design using the decals. I did the background using the water color technique and stamped swirls from MoYou Princess 13 template on it.

Think Outside The Box- Destroy The Box and Splatter Paint it

This is a review for stamp shaped water decals from Born Pretty Store.
I got a Leonardo da Vinci calendar for Christmas, it's awesome. After hours of staring all the scetches in the calendar, this illegible handwriting water decal immediately made me think on him. So I did a mini black and white copy of one of da Vinci's paintings (it's The Virgin of The Rocks). Since the mani itself is black and white I splatter painted a fun colored background for it. I kind of overdid it, didn't I? O_O
The website doesn't really give you the measurements (it should). So it's 5,7cm on the longer and 4,4cm on the shorter side. (cm to inch calculator). Anyway, I love these stickers you get so much for $1.99. However for my huge nails one stamp was big enough to cover 5 fingers, so these are more for accent nails. the bend very well leaving no or minimal wrinkling.
I used van Gogh paint for a da Vinci painting, I feel like I have just done a major art crime. Let's just hope da Vinci won't be haunting me any time soon.

Very Late Christmas Nails

Yeah-yeah, I know it's January and I am like a week and a half late, and I wasn't even planning on doing a Christmas nail design this year. But when inspiration knocks you've got to answer. So I was just fooling around with a soft stamping plate I got from KKCenterHk, I was planning on something lace-ish, it ended up looking like wrapping paper, so I decided to go for a Christmas theme.
This is my first mani using soft stamps.(it's the white flowers on red, you can't see well, but they are there) They really are nothing too special, not better nor worse than regular stamping. They are more expensive though, so I prefer metal stamps. But soft ones are a lot better for gifting.

Zodiac Nail Art

Yaay, it's a new year. And I have created a New Year-themed mani using a stamping template from KKCenterHk. I feel I have seen these designs somewhere, are they originally from a Konad template or something? Anyway, the template itself, feels thin and cheap, but I was surprised to learn that it stamped perfectly. And by perfectly, I mean better than Konad or Bundle Monster. Weird.
I spent waay too much time on doing this. I did a galaxy print in the background, then I added zodiac signs and then added the stamp to the appropriate shape/sign whatever you call that, and then I added a thick coat of gel and kind of ruined it O_O.

Best of Brush me Blush 2013

Goosh, this has been the longest year of my life, mostly due to blogging and studying in my third language. The year 2013 has certainly had its ups and downs, but in conclusion I can say that it has been a great year.
January 2013 was the most successful month in the history of this blog, with me being featured on The Nailasaurus, uploading 31 nail tutorials and gathering about 200 followers. The rest of the year wasn't too shabby either :).
So here are my 10 favorite designs throughout the year.(in no particular order)
I would like to thank all of my followers for bearing with me in 2013, and HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!

Sugar and Spice

Here's another one of my entries for the competition held by MoYou. I used Suki- 03 for this. It is the cutest image plate ever. Oh, and PLEEASEE vote for me (I get 1 vote per like and 2 per share). See my entries here, here, here and here. Thank you. And I hope you had a great Christmas.

Swallows

Black swallows and white swirls on a blue background. Could this get ANY more (unintentionally) patriotic?
I used MoYou's Biker 08 and Suki 07.
I'll just go sing the national anthem now, or something. (the latter)

Tattooed Tips

Sorry for the recent lack of contents on brush me blush. I have had a lot of exams this past month. I have barely had time to post an old design, and definitely not enough to paint one. As the holidays are beginning, I hope to post more new nail art.
Have you ever heard of MoYou? It's only the most awesome company to ever produce stamping templates!
I personally am absolutely over the fence about these, they are very creative and the full designs have a length of 2 cm, that is like the only thing that can fully cover my gigantic nails. I went absolutely shopaholic and got myself like 16 of these. The only thing I don't like about these is the price, at £4.99 (€5,85/ $8,15)
these exceed the €5 per product limit I have put for myself. But, it's Christmas and these are so worth it.
Oh, and they are holding a pinterest competition right now. And I have no idea how to upload my design to their page. Does anyone know?

Textured Donut Bunny

Who wouldn't love donuts and bunnies (and textured nail polish).
I realize now that this isn't my first. I did the other last year. (link here)
The texture polish I used is Kiko- 635.

Melting Butterflies

This is a review for black-pink mood gel from Born Pretty Store.
Who was the sharp mind that decided to make gel heat sensitive. As if gel wasn't sheer enough. I hate this product, it provides minimal color and is really thick. I would say I am disappointed in this product, but its a heat sensitive gel, why did I even expect coverage. Then again maybe it's just this color, the others may work great, but I wouldn't risk it. I got it in black-pink, the black looks something gray-ish and the pink is lot lighter than it should be.
It does look pretty good in the design though.(It's the gray). This is the gel when cold.
And here is a photo of it when warm (it's the light pink). I used water steam to heat my nails, as a result the steam turned my recently applied top coat matte, which is kind of cool :)

Jester's Jellies

It's december of 2013 and I have finished my first jelly sandwich manicure. Boooy, did I miss the jelly train, or what. I used Kiko- 298 and Essence- Glorious Aquarius for the jelly sandwich.
This is a review for checkered full nail stickers from Born Pretty Store. I really liked these. They are something in between water decals and regular (small) nail stickers. They stick really well, but are not bulky and they are very flexible so they leave no air bubbles.

Bleeding Gems

This is a review for the rhinestones used in the design. I got these from Born Pretty Store.

Look how pretty these are. Shiny shiny shiny. I like these so much, I almost wish I had a ball or something to go to :). They do have a metallic base so they weigh quite a lot.

Eye See You

This is a review for the eyeball bluesea you can see on my ring finger. I got it from KKCenterHk. I am not a big fan of the fact that you only get 2 of these. Considering that I am an absolute klutz, I managed to lose one of these instantly. That obviously is not a flaw of the product. With stuff like this what you see is what you get.

Little Fishy Knows the Deal

Guess who is giving a course within 200 km of where I live. My one and only idol and nail art mastermind Pisut Masanong. My ultimate goal is to one day be as skilled as him, and  it's what inspires me to keep doing nails. I have dreamed of this opportunity for ages. Unfortunately, I as an unemployed teen definitely can't afford the course (it's 450€), so I will not be attending. Noooooo. Which is absolutely heartbreaking *sniff*. But, oh well what can I do :(.
Oh, and here is a little design to accompany my dramas. This is quite a old design, which reminds me, I burned my pointer finger and it looks horrible, so I won't be photographing any new designs in a week or so. I have like just now realized that the picture and the text are both about money, the matching was in no way intended.
