Textured Donut Bunny

Who wouldn't love donuts and bunnies (and textured nail polish).
I realize now that this isn't my first. I did the other last year. (link here)
The texture polish I used is Kiko- 635.

Melting Butterflies

This is a review for black-pink mood gel from Born Pretty Store.
Who was the sharp mind that decided to make gel heat sensitive. As if gel wasn't sheer enough. I hate this product, it provides minimal color and is really thick. I would say I am disappointed in this product, but its a heat sensitive gel, why did I even expect coverage. Then again maybe it's just this color, the others may work great, but I wouldn't risk it. I got it in black-pink, the black looks something gray-ish and the pink is lot lighter than it should be.
It does look pretty good in the design though.(It's the gray). This is the gel when cold.
And here is a photo of it when warm (it's the light pink). I used water steam to heat my nails, as a result the steam turned my recently applied top coat matte, which is kind of cool :)

Little Fishy Knows the Deal

Guess who is giving a course within 200 km of where I live. My one and only idol and nail art mastermind Pisut Masanong. My ultimate goal is to one day be as skilled as him, and  it's what inspires me to keep doing nails. I have dreamed of this opportunity for ages. Unfortunately, I as an unemployed teen definitely can't afford the course (it's 450€), so I will not be attending. Noooooo. Which is absolutely heartbreaking *sniff*. But, oh well what can I do :(.
Oh, and here is a little design to accompany my dramas. This is quite a old design, which reminds me, I burned my pointer finger and it looks horrible, so I won't be photographing any new designs in a week or so. I have like just now realized that the picture and the text are both about money, the matching was in no way intended.

A Look in the Past- Day 7: Nyan Cat

Nyan cat has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever seen. I love it. So why do I love Nyan Cat? I don't know. I even have a nyan cat messenger bag. My favorite bag ever. I was sooooo proud of these for the 2 weeks I wore these I smiled every single time I looked at my nails. And this took me 2 days to create, not kidding, I literally had to take a sleeping break to finish the design. Oh, and I did this inspired by a cutepolish tutorial.
And this is not the first time I have done a Nyan cat design on this blog, I did a post featuring Nan cat back in January. See here.

Loook at its pretty eyes. Awww.
This is officially my last look in the past post. I have really enjoyed recreating old designs, and if this has been how far I have come in a year, I can't wait to see the fall of 2014.

A Look in the Past- Day 5: Penguins

Well technically, I still haven't gone to sleep yet, therefore this still counts as Friday. Today's theme is penguins, because it's really cold here. Weirdly enough I  did the original in may, which should be a warm month.
This penguin looks soo critical. He looks like he's blaming me for the global warming, or he is just mad at me because I didn't paint him a six pack.

A Look in the Past- Day 2: Owls

Today I have a owl mani to show you. It was inspired by a cutepolish'es owl nail art tutorial. I used to be such a cutepolish fan. I am pretty sure that she triggered my nail craze. I remember going through her channel super impressed, wondering where the heck did she get such an amazing talent for nails. The photo above is of my second attempt at nail art (I did pandas as a first, but I don't have pictures of the design.) I was sooo proud of getting this done. Oh, and this was February 2012.
Aand here is the redone version. To tell you the truth I have grown to hate cutepolish over the years. Not because of anything she has done. But because members of her fan club keeps accusing people who have dared to do something in a similar theme as her of copying.

Phoenix Nails

I hate fall. It's too cold and too hot at the same time, and it's constantly raining. Also, fall nail polish collections have got to be worst of the year. On the plus side fall inspires me to paint all kinds of fantastic creatures (not that I would be too keen on realism any other time of the year).
Oh, and I am making a F&Q for the blog, so write any questions you would like to ask me in the comments.

Psycho Sheep

WHAT TIME IS IT?? Almost Halloween time. And do you know what that means?? It means that I can paint psychopathic sheep on my nails, without having people question my sanity. Woohoo!

Little Red Riding Hood Nail Art

I did this design ages ago. How could I possibly have forgotten about this. Well, little red is lacking a nose (noseless due to the lack of single haired brushes) but otherwise the design isn't half bad. She also looks too scared but, whatever. (Oh, but, how much more scared would she be, if she only knew how the story ends.)

Cheshire Cat Nails

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for the nice comments on the previous post. Really, it meant  lot to me. And, as you can see from this post, I have decided to keep fucking the system and keep painting nails MY way. After actually considering changing my style, I realized that I would never give up my individuality in exchange for popularity.

Why has it taken me so long to realize how awesome the characters in Alice in wonderland are?
On a side note, my nails are so damaged from the 3d acrylic design, that I did some time ago, that I had to trim them down :(. I'll be posting old designs for a while. If anyone would like to do a guest post here, let me know in the comments. Has to be nail (or beauty) related.

Inheritance Book Art Nails

Sorry for not posting for a while. I have lost all of the last11 competitions I have entered. And most of the winning designs have been really low level and boring. Therefore I am really uninspired, unmotivated and  having some sort of confidential crisis.
Perhaps I should start doing designs solely using stamping and tape. Make them all look basically the same just with a bit of a color difference, like sooo many nail bloggers with thousands of followers, fans and prizes.
For now, see an old design of mine.

This is a replica of the cover art of the book Inheritance. I love this. But perhaps, tomorrow or the day after I will dump the monsters and the harlequin monkeys to make room for for swirls and pretty colors.

Born Pretty Nail Art Brush Review

This is a review of some nail art brushes I got from Born Pretty Store.
I absolutely adore these brushes. They are perfectly pointy and soft. They come in these plastic tubes, which are excellent for transporting the brushes safely.
I think it's safe to say that these brushes make a difference.
If you are interested in buying these brushes, you can do so here.

Crazy Cat Lady Nails + Borm Pretty Store Review

A few weeks ago I posted a list of my favorite products from Born Pretty Store, which included the stamping plate QA15. Which I an going to review now.
I really love the choice of stamping plates at Born Pretty, the always display clear images of what you will be getting. I chose this on because of the awesome full nail patterns and adorable little kitties. And who wouldn't want to cover their nails in kittens :). The plate was fully covered in teal plastic film, and packed in bubble wrap. As you can see it arrived in perfect shape. Please ignore my fingerprints at the top of the plate :)
The perfect Christmas sweater nails done in just a few seconds. I would never had the patience to actually freehand these.
And, of course I can't stick to just stamping. So, I made cat lady nails (you know, the cat lady from the Simpsons!). The cat lady unfortunately covered almost the whole pattern, you can only see a small purple +.
I also like the originality of cat lady nail art, I mean who would paint a grumpy old lady on their nails. Well I have and I love it :D.

Overall, I was very pleased (or even impressed) with the stamping plate. If you would like to buy this item, you can find it here, also don't forget to use my coupon code SCL91 (which you can see on my sidebar).

Easter Bunny Nails

Yes, I do realize that Easter is over, and I am totally late with this design. As I have mentioned before, I have problems with doing nail art in theme with the date. Believe it or not, this time I actually finished this design 3 days before Easter. But I had entered a competition which forbade publishing the pictures before the results were in. In case you were wondering, I got first place yaaay (the competition had four sections, I won the "paint and polish art" section). So, now all the the winners and the runner ups are uploaded here, to determine the final winner. The final winner will get a HUGE chocolate egg. (which can be seen here.)
Now, please go vote :D. If i win.... I .....will... hmm....hmmm....  How about, if I win I will start a new nail art tutorial challenge?? Anyone interested in that?
(To vote got to this page here, you have to like the page first, and then click vote on my design.)

Baby Dragon Nail Art

As I have said before, I adore dragons. In this case I did the baby version. The background was done in a circular gradient. A circular gradient is done by painting a circle on a piece of sponge, then paint a circle around it in a darker color, repeat if wanted. This is actually the only nail art design on this blog that hasn't been entered to a competition. It is a very competition poor time of the year. So, if you know of any let me know.

Leopard Nail Art

So, I have entered the Tip Top Nail nail art competition. The theme was hearts and animal print, and you could only use pink, red, purple, nude, brown and black. Which of course was a pain and I am not pleased with the actual animal print however I am rather fond of the leopard.

The Scream of the Tyrannosaurus

Actually, I was planning on doing the scream of the wolf. But, I realized that is has probably been done thousands of times. Sooo... why not Tyrannosaurus nail art.
While the idea was good, I am not pleased with the execution. The night landscape is too blue and there are too many stars. Okayokayokay, it's quite awesome.

Koi Fish Nail Art

This is my entry to a nail art contest held at Lydia's Nail Art.
The theme of the contest is anything that means spring to me.
Generally spring means the melting of ice to me, due to my Estonian nationality. As I have been living in Spain for about a year, I haven't seen snow in ages. But I still remember going to the house of my grandparents, who live right next to a lake. I would sit on the winter-worn (please let that be a existing word) bridge and watch the fish splash in the recently unfrozen lake. Happy to finally be saved worm the freezing winter. It's makes you feel inspired in some way.
So for today's manicure I have chosen to do fish. Well technically the fish I would watch were pikes. Now, those are not good looking fish. So I drifted a bit off theme and did Koi fish instead.
The design was originally black, white and red. I thought it was rather boring so I added a glitter top coat, not realizing it had a jelly base. You should have heard me shriek when I wound out. I do the weirdest shriek when I mess something up, it's not like the usual feminine shriek every girl does. It's like a crow got stuck between something. Anyway, I think the pink, red and black version is awesome as well :)

Mini Hello Kitty Nails

Today's post will be featuring the nails of a little friend of mine.

I was asked to do hello kitty nails for a 9 year old girl. Since (almost) nobody is as patient as me, I chose a simple glitter background. I made the kittys before on plastic, and later top coated on. I did it so the time the manicure takes would be minimized. However even with this wasn't fast enough. But I think the nails look quite good.

Valentines day nails

It's valentines day!! The last summer I had hundreds of ideas for valentines day designs. Now, however I had a hard time coming up with this one. It's just like me. I rarely do a themed design near any celebrations. I do Halloween nails in spring, beach designs in winter and Christmas nails in fall.
As you can see I painted a dog couple on my nails.(they are sooo cute.) The only thing that differs the female  from the male is that the female has long lashes. I thought about giving her a pink bow, but decided in favour to the lashes.
