A Look in the Past- Day 4: Gradients and Flowers

This was my first attempt at a gradient, and like 2nd attempt at stamping. I remember I had bought the cheapest set of stamping plates scraper and stamper. I was so disappointed when the stamps came out bad. Of course at that point I had no idea of what I was doing wrong. Now that I have kind of mastered stamping I can say that I was doing pretty much everything wrong.
I hate swirls. Okay, well I love swirls but suck at painting them. The problem is that swirlable brushes are really hard to find. And by really I mean really really really. So I used toothpicks for this design.

A Look in the Past- Day 3: Aged Paper

My hands look so much fatter with short nails. Anyways, I did this in March 2012. I did these with the help of a nail tutorial by Robin Moses. I praise that woman. Her videos were what got me form where I was in the beginning to where I was when I started this blog. And that within two months. So if you haven't seen any of her videos go watch one now.
Instead of the newspaper print I stamped the letters with Bundle Monsters BM-311 stamping plate.

Another Born Pretty Store Water Decal Review

In addition to the awesome black water decals I got from Born Pretty Store, which I reviewed a few days ago. I also got some colorful flower decals (BOP 192-195).

I am actually not much of a flower loving kind of girl. But I instantly fell in love with the rainbow roses, knowing that I will never be able to paint anything close to that.
The roses are so detailed. They were also easy to apply and they were a bit stiffer and stronger than the last ones I reviewed.
Looook how pretty the colors are..
I also went thought the trouble to create another design.
I don't know why, but, I did. I guess it's proof that these are really easy to apply and get in the correct spot. My pointer, middle and pinkie finger are what happens if I am in the same room with a plant for more than a week. I have actually tried raising some plants before. My last plant growing project didn't go so well. I mean, I literally dried a cactus. Seriously, dried into a thin dry stick. I actually have a picture of it.
Returning to topic, I am very pleased with this product.
You can buy these here, if you do don't forget about my cupon code SCL91.

30 Days of French Twist, day 27- Dotted French

It's Saturday night!! This is THE night to have fur and let yourself go. So, what crazy stuff am I up to tonight? Well, I am going to paint my nails and eat a lot of cookies. Some may say that I am antisocial, but what could honestly be better than a cookie :D.
The design today is a simple dotted french twist with a pink flower. (look how perfect the black tip looks)

  1. Paint nail silver.
  2. Paint a black french tip.
  3. Make a dotted pattern on the nail.
  4. Paint a pink flower on the tip.
  5. Shade the flower (This is a terrible example of shading)
  6. Top coat+enjoy

30 Days of French Twist, day 25- And Another Flower French

Who could have guessed it, it's ANOTHER flower french. I don't know what's with my obsession about flowers lately. Before I painted them very rarely. I guess they simply make up a great tip. Also some of the pictures turned out weird, it's like I have duck nails.

  1. Paint nail nude.
  2. Paint a flower in the edge of the nail.
  3. Paint anther flower under it.
  4. Outline in white.
  5. Paint a purple center on the pink flower and vice versa.
  6. Paint white circles in the centres, and add a flower.
  7. Add yellow to the centres.
  8. Top coat+enjoy.

  1. Paint nail gray.
  2. Paint a tree trunk in black.
  3. Paint branches.
  4. Paint dark pink flowers on the tip.
  5. Add petals on the flowers.
  6. Top coat+enjoy.

30 Days of French Twist, day 23- Striped Rose French

I love anything striped, especially black and white. So I decided to use stripes on a french manicure. The stripes and the yellow were quite boring so I added pink and red roses. And BOOM, that's how this manicure was born.
  1. Paint nail white.
  2. Add yellow half-moons.
  3. Paint stripes on the tip.
  4. Paint pink roses.
  5. Paint red roses.
  6. Top coat+enjoy.

30 Days of French Twist, day 19- Stamped french

Today I have a stamped french manicure. You'll have to excuse my poor level of stamping. I stamp very rarely, only when I am too lazy to do nail art and don't feel like a one color manicure. I also know that there are a lot of people who can't do nail art. I don't want anyone to feel left out :D. You can use basically any stamping plate. Preferably it would have flowers butterflies stars etc.

  1. Paint nail black
  2. Paint a cloth pattern (do thin horizontal stripes, and cover them with some vertical ones)
  3. Stamp on some black flowers.
  4. Stamp some white flowers.
  5. Add a bit of glitter.(optional)
  6. Top coat+enjoy

30 Days of French Twist, day 18- Another Flower French

I feel like I am repeating designs. For now I have done about 3 flower french tips. Well, they are all very different but It still feels like the same thing :). Anyway, I hope you don't mind the growing amount of flower frenches (nor my pointless rambling in the beginning of each post).

  1. Paint nail white.
  2. Paint a red french tip.
  3. Paint a star-like flower in black.
  4. Glue or top coat on a red rhinestone.
  5. Add some dots.

30 Days of French Twist, day 14-Flower Power

Happy Sunday evening to everyone. The weather has been terrible the whole day. Luckily I got some sunnier moments as well. sun/storm/sun/sun/rain/sun.  The darker pictures are done in my self made (terrible for that reason) light box.

  1. Paint nail red
  2. Attach a piece of lace.(if anyone wants I can make a tutorial explaining how to paint lace.)
  3. Paint big white flowers near the tip.
  4. Paint some slightly smaller flowers.
  5. Paint really small flowers scattered all around the nail.
  6. paint black centers.

One Stroke Bird+Roses Tutorial

Here's a tutorial that I did for a competition. The colors I used were mainly acrylic. I have recently mastered one stroke nail art. It took me like three months to be able to do my first one stroke manicure. During that time I tested and a lot of different acrylic paints and brushes, most of them didn't work. The paint that I used was by Americana (small pot sets of 6 colors) and the brush that worked was 7300 Shader by Loew-Cornell. I hope you like the video !! :)
