BEAN ME

So, I have just survived a overnight flight across Europe, and I am extremely exhausted. I didn't sleep much on the flight, since while sleeping I have the tendency to rest my head on the shoulder of the person on my right. Luckily that didn't happen. Now, I am in need of some sleep or huge amounts of coffee.
Looks quite coffee-ish, don't you think?
I literally fell asleep while waiting for this image to load.
Anyway, I think Garfield doesn't look crazy enough. He looks too happy, but whatever.

90's Cartoon Nail Art

I did some cartoon themed nail art a while ago for a competition on instagram (didn't win)(excuse the hashtag). So, I thought I'd share the design here.

The Scream of the Tyrannosaurus

Actually, I was planning on doing the scream of the wolf. But, I realized that is has probably been done thousands of times. Sooo... why not Tyrannosaurus nail art.
While the idea was good, I am not pleased with the execution. The night landscape is too blue and there are too many stars. Okayokayokay, it's quite awesome.

30 Days of French Twist, day 28- Comic Book Half Moon

A few days ago I used to word "BOOM" in a blog post. From that I was inspired to create a comic book design. I have always wanted to create something like this. But it's too simple for competitions so I just buried the idea.
  1. Paint nail bright(or neon) pink.
  2. Create a pattern of small polka dots.
  3. Make a jagged half moon in black.
  4. Fill it he half moon with white.
  5. Add words like BOOM and POW.
  6. To get a 3D effect paint a part of the letters in a lighter color.
  7. Top coat+enjoy.

30 Days of French Twist, day 17- Nail biter

As some of you know I did a screen muncher nail art design a while back. So, today's tutorial is strongly inspired by it. Simply the muncher I have here is only on the tip and looks very mean.

  1. Paint your nail beige.
  2. Paint a toothed white french tip.
  3. Paint a traditional french tip on top, with red.
  4. Add eyes (not shown in a separate pic)
  5. Paint eyebrows and pupils.
  6. Top coat+enjoy.

30 Days of French Twist, day 10- The Tetris French

Today I have a Tetris themed design. I have always wanted to do this design, but for me it was surprisingly complicated to get all the pieces the same size. After some failed testing this method seems to work the best for me.

  1. Paint nail black
  2. Paint a white tip (which is not shown in the tutorial for some reason. sorry)
  3. Use a thin striper to draw squared on the white tip.
  4. Paint some Tetris pieces (parts, or whatever they are called)
  5. Add some more.
  6. Paint the empty squares black.
  7. Top coat+enjoy

30 Days of French Twist, day 9- the Nyan Cat French

As some of you probably know I am a huge fan of nyan cat. I don't know why, but is's something about the combination of rainbows, pop tarts and cats.

  1. Paint the nail dark blue. (I used 433 by Flormar. I will never get enough of dark metallic blue.)
  2. Paint a white french tip.
  3. Paint a thin red line on the tip
  4. paint a orange line next to the red
  5. repeat step 4 with yellow, green and blue
  6. add stars.
  7. top coat+enjoy

Dragon Nails

Today I have a dragon manicure for you to see. Dragons are one of my favorite "animals". What could possibly be cooler than flying and breathing fire? NOTHING.

The roses look stunning.I also adore the combination of black, red and silver. AND I added my name in Japanese, which you can't see at all.

Legend of Zelda Nail Art Tutorial

Here's a design that I did for Nails By Niqua Video Game Nail Art Contest
I also did a tutorial for this design. The tutorial is strongly lacking quality but it's better than nothing :)

This design was done on acrylic nails. I think the nails are pretty good considering my two day experience in acrylic nails. I was really afraid of acrylic nails, but I got over it. Now I really like doing them. The only thing I hate is gluing the tips to the nail. I can't stand nail glue. I hatehatehatehate it. anyway here is a brief written tutorial of how to do acrylic nails my stile.
  1. Make sure your nails are clean.
  2. Buff your nails.
  3. Apply primer to your nails.
  4. Find the right size tip for your nail.
  5. Find glue to stick the tip to your nails.
  6. Realize that your only glue is about a year old, and has turned into thick sticky mass.
  7. Try to apply the "glue" to your nails.
  8. Glue the tip to your nails, press the tip to the nail until it has dried.
  9. While the glue dries, accidentally glue the nail buffer to the table and a nail art brush to the keyboard.
  10. Groan.
  11. Dip a acrylic brush to acrylic liquid and then to acrylic powder.
  12. Apply the acrylic to your nail.
  13. Wait for it to dry.
  14. Use alcohol to unstick your fingers from the brush and your hair from the wall.
  15. repeat for all 10 nails.
As you probably can guess this isn't exactly the best way to do acrylic nails.

Comic Book Nails

I have always wanted to do nails inspired by a comic book. I was planning to do something like pink nails with black dots and words like "boom" on them. Well I ended up with a set of nails with superheroes painted on them :D

I painted Superman on my index finger, Batman on my middle finger, Spiderman on my ring finger and Wolverine on my pinky.

Video Game Nail Art

Here are some video game nails. Sorry about the quality of this picture. On my index finger I painted "Doodle Jump", on my middle finger I painted "Super Mario", on my ring finger I painted "Pac-man" and on my pinky I painted "Cut The Rope".

Screen Muncher Nail Art Tutorial

Here is a simple tutorial that you can do with just a dotter and some polish.
